If tourists really want to be able to absorb the complete beauty of Halong Bay, then they need to climb Bai Tho Mountain. This tall mountain lies on the coast of the bay, and it offers a magnificent view that includes the shimmering waters, the endless sky and the amazing islands that are scattered across the bay.

Bai Tho Mountain is accessible by land and water, and it is a wonderful place for visitors to relax and enjoy the view.
Bai Tho Mountain, which translates to “Poem”, is located on Halong Bay’s coastline. It is a very large mountain that lies on the land and extends out into the bay. Halong City surrounds the mountain, and visitors can see both the city and the bay when they climb to the top. Bai Tho Mountain is 186 meters high, and tourists can see a large stretch of sea and land when they explore the mountain. The mountain seems to be made of three peaks that reach high into the sky, and it resembles a beautiful castle.

At the base of the mountain lies Long Tien Pagoda, which is the largest temple in Halong City. It was built in 1941 and is a favorite historical site for tourists. It was built as a place to worship Buddha, but it also has altars that are dedicated to the warriors of the Tran Dynasty and to the Holy Mother of Three Palaces.

Bai Tho Mountain has been an important location for Vietnamese residents for centuries. The mountain was originally the site of a lighthouse which helped fishermen and seamen watch for the coast. For this reason, the mountain’s original name was Truyen Dang.

Bai Tho Mountain

In 1468, King Le Thanh Tong wrote a poem on the side of the mountain praising its peace and beauty. In the 1700’s, another poem was carved on the side of the mountain by Lord Trinh Cuong. After several more poems were added to the mountain, the name was changed to “Poem Mountain”, or Bai Tho Mountain.

Why Tourists Should Visit Bai Tho Mountain

Tourists should take time to climb Bai Tho Mountain whenever they get a chance. The magnificence of the bay is magnified when viewed from the mountaintop, and the waters seem even more peaceful.
